Why Support the RRP?

An estimated 1 million Americans are living with HIV, and 24 to 27% of these people are unaware of their HIV infection.
Persons aged 50 and over accounted for 15% of new HIV/AIDS diagnoses in 2005.
112,308 people are living with HIV/AIDS in New York State.
73% of HIV/AIDS diagnoses in 2006 among adolescents and adults were males.
The CDC estimates that approximately 19 million Sexually Transmitted Diseases occur each year; almost half of them are among young people ages 15 to 24

The goals of the RRP are to increase community awareness and involvement regarding HIV/AIDS related issues and to coordinate and advocate for HIV/AIDS related policies and services in Fulton and Montgomery Counties.

Community Awareness: Partners are available for group presentations. Information is also shared at local community events. For information or to have information mailed to you please contact our offices at 842-3762, ext. 233.

Coordination: We get more when we get together! The RRP unites and organizes the efforts of local agencies and community members to make the greatest impact on preventing the spread of HIV and supporting persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Advocacy: The RRP helps to end stigma through education and helps to bring beneficial policies and services to Fulton and Montgomery Counties, to better address the needs of those individuals living with HIV/AIDS in our communities.
